A lot of the DS titles are good games but I could definitely stand to see more JRPGs take advantage of the specs PS3/360 and even PC offer.
That's a Koei conference, not Tecmo.
Actually the original article has it right.
Well, you're both right.
The devs should be the ones innovating but Valve will not be pushing Natal like that. Because there's nothing in it for Valve to push Natal.
You think they're going to make Natal or 360 exclusive games that alienate their main base of PC gamers on Steam? No, that's a terribly risky idea for all involved.
So what's worse? People that can have an intelligent discussion about fictionalized crime in games or sensationalist sites that profit off of dragging the same subject through the mud for hits?
I don't think I or the many users of N4G, fanboys, gamer, or other have to justify ourselves against the ignorant generalization made by this site. I'm done with this trash. I've got real articles to read.
I never much cared for GFWL. I suspect that, if it ever becomes an attractive service, they'll start ringing up the cash register like XBL. I don't have much against XBL, but I'll never want to play that way on PC.
The fewer games that use GFWL the better imo. Besides, the service isn't that attractive at all to begin with. Steam has it beat in pretty much every area.
Of course he's right. 10 times out of 10 the PC version will be capable of better visuals... But uh, such a thing as being too blunt maybe?
You still want to sell your game on console, right? I wouldn't exactly highlight the drawbacks if you know what I mean.
Well it was made by Clover turned Platinum Games, which unfortunately doesn't own the rights to God Hand.
But Capcom owns the rights so they can make a sequel.
No, it is not going too far.
I don't care how much people dislike or feel the game is overrated, it is a gold title and an exceptionally popular one. MS is no different from anyone else to exploit it.
Didn't Sony just secure a deal for a bunch of LBP merchandise? http://www.n4g.com/NewsCom-...
Too far?
I can go down to an enthusiasts shop and get the collec...
Good for SE. This doesn't sound like a parody or an homage. More like a complete rip-off. Maybe the spirit of it was innocent, but you don't take something scene for scene and use it to make cash for yourself.
Kaveti, it would definitely be abused since sex sells. No question. But not all devs will do it for the same reasons not all devs abuse the use of gore.
Games like Thrill Kill and Manhunt haven't lowered the bar for everyone else at all because the industry thrives on games rated T and lower. It's the Guitar Heros, Monster Hunters, and Wii Fits that sell so many millions in large part due to broad appeal. As much as sex sells, publishers and devs aren't likely to pass up another ...
I'd argue that your views on sex are what ruin it for you. Not the sexual content itself. The way people deal with and even discuss sexual relationships is pretty immature, especially in the US historically. Something as omnipresent and indicative of the human experience should never be a taboo subject. It should have never been demonized. Now the entertainment industry is overcompensating to make up for it.
I think the goal here is to get to a place where you can mention sex in ...
For an MMOFPS, I don't think it looks that bad. I expect MAG to produce similar visuals to get the game to run those massive campaigns realistically. Too bad they've already been outdone by MAG on the number of players.
I don't see why everyone's hating on this besides the unmentioned elephant in the room, the 360, to which it will later come. Or so they say.
But, if this isn't just another batch of fanboy hating, what's wrong with the game?
@forgot:
Lol. I have no idea.
It looks ok, but I can't imagine much depth in a game running on star power. It just seems like one of those games that's going to be very cool for about a week with no staying power. I haven't read a heck of a lot about though, so could be off. Superficially, I'd take Uncharted 2 over it in a heartbeat.
But Tony P, RPG nut, would take DA:O over both.
Elvaan are certainly there but they haven't been rebranded yet.
There's a lot more info than the article here: http://ffxiv.windurst.org/b...
Ah, the King of All Cosmos. Reminds me of the carefree rich guy that supervises due to nepotism while you have to do all the real goddamn work.
A$$hole indeed.
Geez SE, take it easy on the impossible names. I already had enough grief typing San d'Oria and Vana'diel. Don't even get me started on Mithra names.
One wonders why they didn't just design all new races if they were going to set the game elsewhere and change everything about them?
Weird subject. This is of course entirely subjective:
I like the Sam Fisher inclusion. I think he started off pretty cookie cutter. But he grew nicely. Maybe if Rockstar had done something less drastic like the grizzled hairy Fisher, they wouldn't be catching so much flak over the balding, heavy set guy that's supposed to be Payne. I have never played a single Splinter Cell, but the impression remains, oddly.
Another face I can't easily forget is Heather of Silent Hi...
Interesting... Does anyone know if there's footage on this?
I've only found this one pic: http://news.cnet.com/8301-1...
I'm leaning heavily towards getting this. It's oldschool Metroidvania action apparently. I love those types of games. As much as I enjoy the FPS Metroids, there's a special place in my heart for the epic 2D adventures like Super Metroid and Castlevania: SOTN.
^^^Yeah, but Steam gets new games.
And are my eyes really not seeing a Halo 3 or Gears entry on that list? What's up with that?
